Tim has had 23 years experience in the FMCG sector in Australasia. Having held sales and sales management roles with Griffins Foods and Masterfoods he was appointed Director of Marketing and Sales at Brandlines (formally Sweetline). Here he successfully launched a number of international confectionery brands including Chupa Chups, Smint, Werthers Original and Mentos, cementing Brandlines as the market leader in the category.
Following seven years with Brandlines, Tim was appointed as General Manager of Stuart Alexander Ltd (NZ), a subsidiary of the established Australian Company, Stuart Alexander & Co Pty Ltd. Distribution rights to Fishermans Friend, Remedies (convenience packs of Nurofen, Berocca, Strepsils, Durex etc) and a sales and marketing agreement with Whittaker’s Chocolate were secured. Additionally, kids brand and seasonal portfolios grew the company’s turnover three fold over a four year period.
Tim’s core expertise lies in importing, brand development and general management and he has spent a focused 15 year period building networks at both the supply and sales ends of the sector.
Preferring to live in the country rather than the city, Tim prioritises family, is keen on boating and is a passionate fisherman. His healthy outlook influences both his professional and personal life.
James brings a significant amount of sales expertise to the business having spent 15 years across three companies (Brandlines, Stuart Alexander & Co. (NZ) and currently Acorn Group.) With these companies he has gained sales experience across all FMCG trade channels and established business in new territories. Most recently he has been the driver for Acorn Group breaking in to the new categories of Sweetener and Lunchbox Snacks.
His responsibility with Acorn Group is to drive sales and marketing whilst working on brand strategy with brand owners to ensure their brands grow and develop into household names in the New Zealand market. This gives the Acorn group sales team a solution that fills an identified gap. He thrives on being on the ground in stores with the team, His sales experience at the coalface gives him the ability to identify solutions and opportunities to grow and nurture brands.
As one of the founding members of Acorn Group, James seeks to create a great company culture with a high performing and results driven team.
James has a young family and loves spending time with them. He also has a passion for motorsports, water sports and cars and makes good use of the local beaches.
Davin brings to Acorn Group Ltd over 20 years of sales and business development experience from various FMCG channels including; Grocery, Route, Foodservice and recently as National Business Manager for Independent Liquor, a division of Asahi Beverages providing a range of alcohol products to the Liquor Industry and Grocery.
Davin is responsible for the domestic sales team of Acorn Group Ltd. His sales and leadership experience is used to continually improve sales planning, process and systems. Focussing on realising the team’s potential as FMCG execution experts and creating a point of difference for all of our customers.
Davin enjoys spending time with family, Travelling and Camping. He is creative and enjoys DIY, Landscaping and entertaining close friends.
Megan brings to Acorn Group Ltd over 20 years of financial experience from various industries including; auditors, service providers and recently as Finance Manager for Virbac Animal Health, a multinational providing animal health products to wholesalers and the FMCG sector.
Megan is responsible for the finance and operations divisions of Acorn Group Ltd. Her corporate experience is used to continually improve systems and procedures across both divisions and is driving the business forward by providing the necessary information and tools to management.
Megan enjoys spending time with family, skiing trips or exploring new countries and cultures. She is creative and enjoys crafts, cake decorating and entertaining.
Having completed a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Marketing and Management and an Honours Degree majoring in Marketing from The University of Auckland, Jaimee began her career as Trade Marketing Coordinator for Wilson Consumer Products before joining Panamex NZ Ltd as Marketing Assistant.
She brings her experience of working across a wide variety of brands within the FMCG industry to her position as Brand Manager at Acorn Group. Jaimee thoroughly enjoys building brands through creative marketing initiatives, establishing strong relationships with key contacts and colleagues, and working in a fast paced environment.
Outside of work Jaimee loves to keep fit and spend time with friends and family. She also has a passion for food, wine and travel.
Sonali is a graduate from The University of Auckland with a double major in Marketing and International Business. Whilst studying Sonali has been a Marketing Assistant at Wonderkids Learning Centre and upon graduation a Loyalty Marketing Programme Coordinator at a leading Loyalty Company in NZ.
Coupled with her passion to create new relationships and always eager to learn more, she is a team player who aims to surpass expectations.
Outside of work Sonali enjoys travelling whether it be a road trip or going overseas, appreciates photography and enjoys watching movies.
Justine has nearly 20 years experience in accounts. Having previously held roles within the Goodman Fielder group of companies, she is experienced with the grocery trade and brings this knowledge to her role at Acorn Group Ltd.
Outside of work Justine’s two children keep her busy and she is a keen volunteer in the school PTA. The family enjoys walks with the dog and socialising with friends.
Deane has 23 years of experience within the FMCG sector and has held Regional Sales Management roles with companies such as Montana Wines, Wrigley and recently API Consumer Brands. He enjoys engaging with retailers to understand what drives their business.
Deane is married and has 2 children who are very active in sport.
Brent was born into grocery and has spent his life in the business at all levels. In his 30 years in the industry, he’s managed meat, seafood and deli departments, been consulting in fresh foods and has provided in-store training.
This diversity puts him in the best position to understand the retailer’s needs.
Relationships are important to Brent and he prides himself on his friendly, professional manner. Brent is known and well liked in the supermarket industry. He has established networks with store owners, staff and Foodstuffs management.
He’s a family man too, and is proud of his growing family of four children and supportive wife of 28 years. He enjoys gardening and landscaping.
Jane has come from a strong Hospitality background, which includes assisting with the Food and Beverage Operations for Contiki Europe, Hotel Management roles throughout New Zealand and also operating her own restaurants and catering business in Tauranga.
Since moving to Auckland over six years ago, she has immersed herself within the FMCG industry working as a full-time merchandiser for Brandlines (now DKSH), challenging herself to another Deli management role at Pak’n Save Silverdale and most recently as an Area Manager for Storelink Sales and Merchandising where she managed and led a team of 20 merchandisers as well as worked closely with supermarket/store management to build strong working relationships.
Jane’s passion for food, sees her entertaining with her partner for friends and family as often as she can, gardening, and when time allows (and that’s not often) a good nine holes of golf.
Being involved in the marketing and merchandising industry for the last decade in and around the Dunedin area, Kirstie brings a wealth of knowledge and strong personal relationships within the local supermarket scene with her.
Kirstie is very positive and her people skills are evident and appreciated by her clients and customers alike. Kirsty is passionate about the marketing industry and very focused on striving for excellence.
In her spare time Kirstie is a devoted mother and enjoys time with her family and friends.
Debbie has 15 years Territory Management experience with Award Appliances, Sunbeam Appliances and since July 2012 with Family Choice Ltd, in the FMCG sector.
She delights in selling premium lines that offer consumers a point of difference, and provide retailers with margins that make working in this challenging industry, very worthwhile.
Debbie and her husband Graham have two adult sons, who along with their partners live overseas. Exercise, watching sport and spending time with family and friends are Debbie’s favourite pastimes.
Martin brings 30 years experience in the FMCG sector, having represented many diverse clients both in representative and territory management roles. In 2011, Martin held a merchandising role with Storelink Ltd and has since transferred these skills and knowledge to Acorn Group.
Along with my wife Jan have three adult children and five grandchildren. Sports and travel make up our other favourite pastimes.
